Who we are
Sanctum is intentionally non-political and non-ideological. Centrist. Rejecting extremism in all its forms.
People from many backgrounds are welcome — provided they value:
respect
personal responsibility
curiosity
cooperation
care for land and people, animals and plants, Earth
There are no required beliefs here.
Only shared standards of behaviour. The very simple guiding principle is the new Platinum Rule: ‘Do unto others* as you would have them do unto you.’
*Others being not just humans, but animals, plants, planet.
Sanctum draws inspiration from:
regenerative agriculture & permaculture
Indigenous land stewardship (where invited and appropriate)
practical engineering
old crafts and durable skills
modern tools used thoughtfully
philosophy that values humility over certainty

About the Founder
Sanctum was initiated by Mark Henry, an Australian designer, manufacturer, and regenerative permaculture farmer.
Mark has spent decades building physical products, businesses, and infrastructure — and the last several years quietly building an off-grid, self-sufficient farm in Kin Kin, Queensland.
His background spans:
manufacturing and engineering
regenerative land practices
off-grid power and water systems
long-term thinking about resilience, risk, and stewardship in a world increasingly chaotic. International geo-political power plays. Rapidly arriving artificial superintelligence.
Sanctum is an open exploration:
> “What would sensible, grounded human resilience actually look like —
without hysteria, ideology, or fantasy?”
Mark does not see himself as a guru (he is, after-all, anti-guru himself), leader, or authority — only a host, builder, and collaborator.

Final note
Sanctum is not open to the general public
There are no mass programs or instant membership
Sanctum is not about withdrawing from the world.
It’s about strengthening all our foundations so people can meet the future with steadiness, generosity, and clarity. Thriving, not just surviving.
